Competitive Ladder
Ranked Matchmaking, ELO Rating & Global Leaderboards
Step into the competitive arena of Barricade Clash. Understand how ELO ratings are calculated, how time controls operate, and how to climb to the Grandmaster tier.
1 The ELO Rating Formula
Barricade Clash uses the international standard ELO rating system (similar to FIDE chess). Every registered player starts at a baseline rating of 800 ELO.
- Beating Higher-Ranked Opponents: Defeating an opponent with a higher ELO grants significantly more points (up to +32 ELO).
- Losing to Lower-Ranked Opponents: Losing to a lower-rated player results in a larger deduction.
- Fair Matching: Our matchmaking coordinator actively pairs you with opponents within ±100 ELO points for balanced, competitive games.
2 Competitive Tier Classifications
🥉 Bronze (800 – 1099 ELO)
Developing fundamentals, learning pawn jump rules, and mastering wall placement accuracy.
🥈 Silver (1100 – 1399 ELO)
Competent wall economists who understand funneling and tempo calculation.
🥇 Gold (1400 – 1699 ELO)
Master tacticians using advanced L-Locks, parity counting, and precise clock management.
👑 Grandmaster (1700+ ELO)
The elite top 50 players showcased on the global podium and seasonal leaderboards.
3 Time Controls & Clock Management
Ranked matches feature a strict 5-minute (300-second) total clock per player:
- Your timer only counts down while it is your turn to move or place a wall.
- If your clock reaches 0:00, you automatically lose by time forfeit.
- Disconnect Protection: If you experience network interruption, you have 30 seconds to reconnect before an automatic forfeit is awarded.
